Description:

Arne J. Mørkrid was born in Meljane at Mørkrid in 1909 as a smallholder boy of the Mørkrid main farm. He had no father but his grandfather was living in the same house as his mother. When he was 18 his grandfather died and he had to do all hard work by himself. He knew the Mørkrid Valley better than anyone else on his last years and in this movieclip (from 1995) he was sitting in Turid Gudmundssons living room, drinking coffee and telling some histories from the Mørkrid Valley so he have picked up from his grandfather. The interviewers was Terje A. Gudmundsson and Harald Gudmundsson. He is here describing things we have used in some of our guiding trips.
